日本人從菲律賓出發, 划輕艇到台灣

一位31歲的日本人Satoru Yahata在六月三日著船完畢,要開始他的輕艇冒險.他要從菲律賓本島,呂宋島划到台灣東部的花蓮.他希望成為第一個,在一個月之內划船跨越700公里海域的人.他的輕艇長5.5公尺.Satoru Yahata是日本沖繩島人,他從呂宋島北部的怡洛戈斯省濱海小鎮巴古樸鎮,大約是馬尼拉北邊560公里左右的小鎮出發.

去年,Yahata划著他的輕艇從花蓮划了將近300公里到日本沖繩的石垣島.他同樣在2005年從日本沖繩西表島划500公里到沖繩本島.2002年,他也在澳洲以及印尼之間的海域航行.

"我希望能像以前的人一樣,划船渡海."Yahata說,"只要有海的地方,我的輕艇都可以到的了."

Japanese man sets off by kayak from Philippines to Taiwan

PAGUDPUD, Philippines — A 31-year-old Japanese man embarked Sunday on a sea kayak adventure from the northern tip of the main Philippine island Luzon to Hualien in eastern Taiwan, hoping to be the first man to paddle across the 700 kilometers of sea within a month. Traveling in a 5.5-meter kayak, Satoru Yahata of Okinawa Prefecture set off from Pagudpud in Ilocos Norte Province, about 560 kilometers north of Manila.

Last year, Yahata paddled his kayak across almost 300 km of sea from Hualien to Ishigaki Island in Okinawa Prefecture. He also navigated 500 km of seas between Iriomote and Okinawa islands, both in Okinawa Prefecture, in 2005 and crossed the waters between Australia and Indonesia in 2002. "I want cross the seas on my own like people did in the past," he said. "I can go to any part of the world where there are bodies of water with my kayak."
